The City of Montrose is accepting applications for the position of seasonal DPW Laborer for the Department of Public Works. Pay rate $12.00 – $14.00 per hour DOQ&E, 32 hours per week/flexible. Seasonal work would run May-October. Work hours are normally 7:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Thursday.
Responsibilities include by are not limited to:
- Completing a variety of public works tasks associated with the day to day maintenance of city properties, infrastructure, and facilities.
- Water stop box locating, water mainline valve exercising and building and grounds maintenance.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Applicant/Requirement Skills:
- High School Diploma
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given.
- Must have experience operating pickup trucks, hand tools, power tools, shovels and rakes and must possess friendly, courteous, and cooperative customer service skills.
- Possess and maintain a valid Michigan Driver’s license.
- Wear prescribed PPE and observe workplace safety.

- Employee must possess the physical requirements to perform activities listed above.
- Employee must be physically able to stand, walk, and/or sit for a period of time.
- Employee must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. comfortably.
